The Risks of Air pollution
Most people are aware that outdoor air pollution can damage their health, but may not know that indoor air pollution can also have significant effects. EPA studies of human exposure to air pollutants indicate that indoor air levels of many pollutants may be two to five times higher than outdoor levels, ranging up to 100 times worse in severe cases. This is because the same air is repeatedly circulated through the same HVAC system and air ducts. Common indicators of poor indoor air quality include runny noses, sore eyes, dizziness, headaches, and even skin lesions in extreme circumstances.
